Rainy season is not just for the weather. The season for viewing pleasures has finally arrived, too, and this time it can serve even on-the-go subscribers. PLDT and Smart made one of its most avant-garde and sought after partnerships known this year when they launched iflix here in the Philippines. If you are familiar with Netflix streaming video content services overseas, it pretty much hails from the same concept.
iflix allows users of the service to access over 11,000 hours of shows and movies. It includes local and overseas movies and TV shows, all made possible by their partnership with Disney, FOX, BBC, and other providers. Â It can cater to serve the needs of the Korean drama addict, the U.S. TV show junkie, and the movie buffs alike.
Thanks to iflix, people can now literally have #EntertainmentEverywhere because it can provide video streaming services for 5 devices at only 129 pesos per month. There is even a free 14-day trial given. Existing PLDT DSL plan subscribers can choose to have this as an add-on for 99 pesos per month. It will have backwards compatibility with the Telpad device; it will also be available on mobile devices, laptops, and desktops, for maximum entertainment.
The event was successfully launched at the Green Sun Hotel last June 24, 2015 and was hosted by Joey Meade and Jason Godfrey.
Glee-inspired performances were made for the audience and to welcome U.S. Glee star Heather Morris, who plays Brittany Pierce, since she personally visited the Philippines for this launch. The astonishingly beautiful actress talked about her happy experience here in the Philippines, working with Charice Pempengco, and adjusting to her roles as wife and mother apart from acting duties back home.
Other famous local celebrities also made it to the event. Everyone moved about the hall which, in keeping with the Entertainment Everywhere theme, had loads of activities from all corners.Â
The highlight of the event was the countdown to the unveiling of the product. After PLDT bosses and Heather pressed the giant play button, the hall was immediately converted into a cataclysmic combination of lights and sounds.
The four walls of Green Sun’s ballroom turned into a giant projector that gave a sampling of the goods that people can expect from iflix.
Apart from the successful and star-studded event, users nationwide can now legally enjoy their favorite TV show episodes from everywhere at any time they choose. With iflix, you now hold the full remote control to your viewing entertainment, everywhere.
