Since our first staycation at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati, Frank and I never stopped raving about this hotel. In fact,  Holiday Inn & Suites Makati reigns as one of our top hotels in Metro Manila because we find their services and amenities better compared to most  5 star hotels we’ve stayed in before…. and the weird thing is that, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati isn’t  a 5 star hotel.

Frank and I love traveling out of town. Our long list of articles proves how addicted we are to wandering. But during those weekends where we don’t feel like going on long bus rides or queuing at airport terminals, we do have a handful of favorite hotels in Manila which we prefer and occasionally miss.  The answer is really simple. You can’t go wrong with Holiday Inn. It’s one of the world’s best known hotel brands with a long and successful history.

 

The first  Holiday Inn opened in 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee (naks nagresearch!). The story of Holiday Inn started when a man named Kemmons Wilson decided to take his family on a road trip. Unfortunately, he found himself so dissatisfied with the mediocre motels along his route, that he decided he could do better.  And so he did!

Wilson envisioned a chain of clean, affordable hotels along major freeway exits. His original hotel offered 120 rooms with air conditioning, television and telephone. Children under 12 stayed free with their parents, and the hotel had an outdoor swimming pool. Holiday Inn was an instant success and the rest was history!

What was the secret to his success? He simply decided to do things better for the customers and be better than the competition! How? He simply recognized what guests were looking for and gave it to them. Ang galing diba?

Over the years and now, with almost 700,000 rooms globally, every Holiday Inn hotel stays true to its commitment to provide quality comfort and impeccable service. I  myself have witnessed  its distinct level of comfort during our 1st stay which I don’t experience with other hotels. No wonder, Frank and I are such big fans.

Last weekend, when we yearned for some quality relaxation and make-up for days where we lacked quality sleep, we both knew that only the signature beds at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati could help us recharge.

we will never forget the signature homey citrusy scent and the ultra comfortable mattress and pillows found in every Holiday Inn hotel room.

with all the countless hotels we’ve stayed in, the shower at Holiday Inn & Suitess Makati is no doubt the most consistent in temperature and has that perfect amount of water pressure which is unmatched by any hotel in the metro.

 

During that weekend, we never dared to go out the hotel for we already felt so at home and comfortable especially  by the pool at the roofdeck…

just before going to bed, we decided to get a massage at their spa which was also located at the roof deck….

Our massage therapists were very warm and accommodating and we also learned that they offer the most affordable rates compared to other hotels. No wonder they have a lot of loyal returning clients.

the following day, I visited their gym beside the spa and attempted to walk on the treadmill. After less than 10mins, I felt hungry so I went down to have breakfast instead. hehehehe

Our original plan was really to relax a lot and stay away from eating too much however, we couldn’t resist the dishes that were on the buffet so we had to give-in. hihihihi 

Of course, every Holiday Inn & Suites Makati experience won’t be complete without indulging in the irresistibly to-die-for dishes at Flavors Restaurant. Their buffet choices as well as the food quality also improved a lot since last year that’s why our meals were extra memorable.

Good thing the Priceless Staycations in Makati promo with  Mastercard  is now on-going and will end July  of next year, so I guess we’ll just book another staycation when time permits. =)
