Rugby fans, save the date! Hong Kong Sevens, one of the most popular sporting events in Asia, is happening once again this April 5-7 2024 at the Hong Kong Stadium. For the past 30 years, Hong Kong Sevens has welcomed some of the world’s greatest rugby players and thousands of fans from all over the globe.

This 2024, Hong Kong Sevens marks its “final hurrah” at the iconic Hong Kong Stadium before the annual sporting event moves to its new home, Kai Tak Sports Park in 2025. So, this is your chance to be part of history and experience Hong Kong Sevens at the Hong Kong Stadium for the last time.

The Cheung Chau Bun Festival is one of the most spectacular festivals in Hong Kong, and if you’ve always wanted to experience a traditional Hong Kong festival, this is a great option. This festival, which marks the end of spring, is possibly one of the most vibrant and thrilling festivals you can experience in Hong Kong. The festivities are even on China’s national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

You can expect papier-mâché effigies, lion dances, piu sik parade with children dressed up as deities paraded on stilts, Taoist festivals, and the exciting Bun Scrambling Competition. Of course, you can also have your fill of the traditional Hong Kong buns!

Dragon Boat Festival 2024

Mid-Autumn Festival 2024

The highly-anticipated annual Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, will fall on September 17, 2024. Hong Kong will surely be a vibrant and lively place to celebrate the annual festival, especially with the many festivities surely in store for locals and tourists alike.

The Mooncake Festival is known to be a season for reuniting with friends and family, moon gazing together, and enjoying lots and lots of mooncakes. This year, celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong and experience festive events such as lantern carnivals and the famed Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance.

In celebration of the festival, the quaint neighborhood of Tai Hang comes alive as a massive glowing dragon (brought to life by over 300 performers) dances through the streets for three nights. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance is officially listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, so this is definitely a must-see when in Hong Kong!

From 5 PM, the Temple Street and Yau Ma Tei Community Centre Rest Garden light up with dazzling light art installations and immersive wall projections that create colorful backdrops for your perfect photos.
