23rd Trans Sport Show 2104: Fuels a Driving Generation
The longest running motor show TRANS SPORT SHOW opens on May 22-25 at the SMX Convention Center Manila by Mall of Asia and will highlight the distinction between old school and new school, vintage and modern, contemporary and nostalgic car lovers . This year’s show is being presented by Phoenix Premium 98 – the new fuel product of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines.
Generations of car enthusiasts will expect a wide array of old school and new school display cars as well as project vehicles vying for the coveted Phoenix Trans Sport Show Best of Shows (Contemporary and Nostalgic). “Trans Sport Show has always been a fitting venue for both vintage and modern rides because it aims to draw all generations of car enthusiasts under one roof and offers a four-day experiential and educational event for them. We do not only entertain but do a lot of information dissemination on automotive history to educate most especially the new breed of car enthusiasts. We feel it is our responsibility to raise the standards in auto shows by sharing valuable knowledge through the show vehicles. Trans Sport Show is much like your favorite car magazine or website in the flesh” ,explains show organizer Sophie delos Santos, President of Tradeshow International, Inc.
With Trans Sport Show’s commitment to help raise the level of automotive knowledge even further among all generations of car lovers, comes the challenge of integrating the passion of old school and new school car enthusiasts. “It is important to keep both groups linked to create a continuously evolving ‘car show’ culture where the ‘baton of knowledge’ is passed on from one generation to the next which sometimes makes it way back to the older generation. A clear example of this are the younger enthusiasts getting immersed into classic old school rides and the older generation collecting modern exotics. The cycle must not be broken in order to keep the knowledge exchange alive. ”, stressed Sophie.
This year’s edition of the Trans Sport Show will have a special display of three automotive marques celebrating special anniversaries. To celebrate 100 years of Maserati, a first generation and third generation Ghibli will be showcased side by side. The Giugiaro designed classic Ghibli (due for restoration) is the only one in existence here previously owned by renowned car collector Cresenciano de Castro and will be lent by Michel Motorsport .Its modern counterpart the 2014 Ghibli will be displayed courtesy of Autostrada Motore, Inc. and Formula Sports, Inc. Celebrating 100 years of Dodge, an old school and new school Challenger will be on display. To complete the special display and in celebration of the marque’s 50th year, beautifully restored classic Mustangs will be presented by Alex Car Restoration –Trans Sport Show’s Best of Show Hall of Famer and also by Best of Show winner Route 66.
Other event highlights of the show are the Manila Sports Car Club Racing Display to promote its Vintage and Modern Sports Car Racing Series and the Rescue Vehicles Showcase by Firewolf Motors led by its “Dekotora Firetruck”- a highly customized truck with bling. Miniature show cars will be exhibited by DCPH- DieCast Collectors of the Philippines, Inc. and the IPMS Motor Modelers – International Plastic Modelers Society. Most importantly, Trans Sport Show will not be complete without the exhibition of project vehicles competing in the 23rd Phoenix Trans Sport Show Cup totalling over 80 entries and participated in by the country’s leading automotive restoration, detailing and customizing shops.

The 2014 Phoenix Trans Sport Show is organized by Tradeshow International.
