10 Reasons Why I Love the Beach Even If I Can’t Swim

5. Every visit has something new to offer.

There is always something new to experience with every beach visit. Even the sunset will look different each time that you go. Aside from that, there are always new activities to try, new food to taste and new people to meet. Suffice to say: I have never gone to the beach and regretted the decision of doing so.

4. It motivates me to stay fit.

This may sound stupid, but the possibility of going to the beach is what motivates me to stay fit. Whenever I tell people I’m going to work out, they seem to assume that I’m getting ready for summer, but I actually love going to the beach any time of the year, so I make it a point to work out as much as possible now to ensure that I at least look decent when a random beach trip pops up.

3. I can actually enjoy the sunshine.

I love the sun. I’m not the type of Filipina who shies away from the sun because I don’t want to get darker. I love love LOVE the sun. And while the sun may be unavoidable anywhere in the Philippines, the sun is only enjoyable when you’re in a swimsuit and wanting to be under it. After all, you aren’t wearing any proper clothes to stick to your sweat when on the beach or any makeup that may get sweated off.

Beaches are beautiful. Well, most of them anyway. And they are always so pretty to photograph. I post the most Instagram photos when I’m on the beach, but can you blame me? They look so effortlessly good it’s hard not to fall in love with them.

1. It’s nice to get away,

Of course, my number one reason for loving the beach is the ability to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sometimes, traffic, work and just being super busy can really take its toll on the body and mind; and a trip to the beach is one of the easiest ways to do so. Fortunately, there are so many gorgeous beaches in the Philippines. You don’t even have to go far to get to one.
