It takes more than a GoPro to get good travel photos. It takes more than a museum tour to appreciate culture.

Photographer Raniel Hernandez and Ayala Young Leader heritage advocate JQ Quesada will talk about the intricacies of travel photography and cultural heritage preservation at the upcoming XPLORRA Talks on November 27 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Mapua Institute of Technology-Makati campus lobby.

XPLORRA, a website and soon to release app that connects travelers to their desired destinations in the Philippines, has launched XPLORRA Talks as a forum for discussing travel and culture, in partnership with college-based student organizations. For this event, XPLORRA is working with Illuminata Mapua (IMapua), the student photography organization of Mapua Institute of Technology.

“In line with Illuminata Mapúa’s mission to promote photography, this event will feature various perspectives in the art of photography,” IMapúa adviser Arvin Patani said. “We will not just focus on photography, but we also aim to uplift the appreciation of Philippine culture through our invited speakers.”

XPLORRA Talks is open to students, teachers, and photography enthusiasts. Attendees may register online at https://xplorra.com/mapua. Up for grabs at the event are AirAsia roundtrip tickets to domestic locations and a free two-night stay in a local destination courtesy of Pilipinas Roadtrip.
