Using Your Phones In-Flight is Now Allowed on Philippine Planes – Internet Addicts Rejoice!

When in Manila, are you addicted to the Internet? Are you like some of my friends who simply cannot stand being away from their Instagram feeds for more than 20 minutes seconds? If you are an Internet addict who also happens to be a travel junkie, then you can now rejoice!

The civil aviation authority of the Philippines has recently announced that passengers will now be able to use their phones in-flight to make calls and surf the World Wide Web to their hearts’ content.

This new rule of using your phones in-flight is currently already in effect and covers the use of mobile phones, laptops, short-based-messaging services, broadband services, voice communications services and the Internet in-flight. However, you will still need to keep all of these gadgets turned off before the flight and whenever the plane needs refuelling.

All gadgets will need to be on silent mode, as well.

Despite this rule, though, please do keep in mind that other people are still on the flight with you; so be polite, be courteous and be as quiet as possible. If you have to talk on the phone, talk quietly and if you have to listen to music, use earphones. That means no loud speakers or amplifiers, please!

What are your thoughts on this When in Manila? 🙂
