Attention to all high school students all over the country! Brace yourselves as the UP Broadcasters’ Guild brings you “Tagisan 2017: Challenging Conventions” coming this November!
Tagisan is an annual series of workshops and Philippine quiz bee for high school students. The event aims to educate students about the important role of media in our society and teach them the skills needed for a career in the media industry. With the theme of “Challenging Conventions,” the event hopes to debunk the common notion that broadcasting majors are only meant for Radio or TV Newscasting. This year, it will have a lecture on Broadcasting in the Digital Age and four break-out sessions on Writing Drama for TV, Radio News Writing and Performance, Advocacy Campaign Building, and Broadcast Documentary.
UP Broadcasters’ Guild is a duly-recognized non-stock non-profit socio-civic organization based in the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines Diliman. Our main goal is to promote media education in student activities with the purpose of community development and to advocate freedom of the press through the responsible use of communication.
