UP ALCHEMES Research Fair 2014: Making the Difference with Science and Technology

Research Fair is an annual competition and workshop organized by the University of the Philippines Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students (UP ALCHEMES), a duly-recognized organization from the College of Engineering, UP Diliman, with the desire to harness the potential of young minds and the continuous pursuit for academic excellence. On its 13th year, the Research Fair continues to be a haven for aspiring scientists and passionate researchers as it showcases the innovations of high school students in Science and Technology that are significant today.

This three-day event is a platform for discovery, visualization and materialization of the ideas of the youth, which help shape them into becoming great individuals. In the presence of professionals, the participants have a glimpse of the future career paths they desire to embark in. The competition-based activities are venues to grow intellectually and socially as they develop their critical thinking while interacting with a wider range of audience.

The past year has been successful; Research Fair 2013 has acknowledged young ideas even beyond NCR and Luzon. An overwhelming number of 450 participants graced the event, with participating schools from as far as Mindanao. This year, Research Fair 2014 comes back with the same gusto, ready to continue the legacy of making a difference and breaking free.
