While the world has gone gaga over the Duchess of Cambridge’s sartorial choices, including the sapphire engagement ring that was passed on to her from Princess Diana, Prince William has noticeably been ring-less.
Does this mean that William is not as committed to his marriage as his wife is? Not at all, according to Buckingham Palace! The Palace issued a statement on the Duke of Cambridge’s decision to go sans ring, saying:
It is simply down to personal preference. It was something the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewellery.
Kate, on the other hand, wears two rings as a symbol of her love and matrimony to William: aside from the sapphire ring, she wears a simple gold wedding band.
Since Kate wears two rings anyway, she’s probably wearing them for William as well!
