In a post made on March 20, 2020, Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi imposed a liquor ban in Imus, Cavite during the time of enhanced community quarantine.
“Alinsunod sa Provincial Ordinance No. 271-2020, ipinagbabawal ang pagtitinda at pag-inom ng serbesa, alak at iba pang inuming nakalalasing sa Lalawigan ng Cavite sa panahon ng Enhanced Community Quarantine,” the post said.

The fines are as follows:
Ang sinumang mahuhuli na umiinom ay:
1. Unang Pagkakasala – multa ng hindi hihigit sa Php 2,000 at/o pagkakakulong ng hindi hihigit sa 5 araw
2. Ikalawang Pagkakasala – multa ng hindi hihigit sa Php 3,000 at/o pagkakakulong ng hindi hihigit sa 10 araw
3. Ikatlong Pagkakasala at higit pa – multa ng hindi hihigit sa Php 5,000 at/o pagkakakulong ng hindi hihigit sa 30 araw.
Cavite was put under community quarantine last Tuesday, March 17, starting midnight. Stricter rules were enforced and checkpoints were set up in order to prepare for the quarantine.
