It’s a dawn of a new era.
By next week, we will be seeing crisp, new peso bills, with President Rodrigo Duterte’s signature printed in front.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is set to release new generation currency (NGC) bills, with new and enhanced security features to prevent the production of counterfeit money.
The new features include large numerals placed on both sides, and a more embossed print on the front side to help visually impaired people identify and differentiate each denomination.
NDS (New Denomination Series) banknotes may still be exchanged in banks until January 2017, when these will be demonetized.
