My First Flight Experience with Singapore Airlines – One of the World’s Best Airlines

I’ve always been curious on how it feels like to fly via Singapore Airlines ever since I saw their feature on a lifestyle cable channel some years ago.

Fortunately, I got invited to represent the Philippines by the Spanish government (Catalunya Tourism Board) to fly to Barcelona, Spain to visit and blog about the Catalunya region. If I remember right, the Catalunya Tourism Board Asia-Pacific Region invited 7 influencers from different Asian countries for this epic trip. Luckily, Singapore Airlines agreed to support this event by giving me a complimentary roundtrip ticket to Spain. Yes!!!!!

And so, in the coming days, please do stay tuned for updates about my trip to Catalunya, Spain via Singapore Airlines. I’m feeling overly excited to experience Spain for the 1st time. Also, it’s my first ever time to travel to Europe alone, so I’m sure this is gonna be another personal achievement for me.

Anyways, 1st, let me tell you all about my flight experience with Singapore Airlines by showing you some photos during my almost 19 hour flight (total).

Here’s a tip: to avoid long check-in queue at NAIA, I highly recommend you download their app and check-in online 48hrs before your flight. Once you arrive at the airport, immediately proceed to their on-line check-in counter for baggage drop-off.

After checking in my luggage at the counter, and passing the immigration and final security check, I was assisted by their staff to the Silver Kriss lounge. The Silver Kriss Lounge is Singapore Airlines’ very own VIP lounge for VIPs, Business, and First Class passengers. Here you can relax, charge your gadgets, use your laptop and even enjoy food and refreshments at their buffet area.

And so, boarding time came, so I proceeded to my assigned gate and entered the plane. Upon seeing my seat, I noticed that even their Economy seats looked really nice and had enough leg room (which makes it ideal for long-haul flights). My tip is that, if you can’t afford to buy Business Class for now, you can pick your seats at their mobile app. I picked the 1st row at the Economy area so I was able to enjoy more leg room. =)

A few minutes after take-off, dinner was served. I ordered their Pan Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Onion Sauce with Veggies and Mashed Potatoes. I also had cold pasta salad with Ham, a piece of warm bread roll with butter and a glass of red wine. They also offered me a glass of champagne.

I enjoyed a heartwarming full dinner. I loved how my dinner rolls were served perfectly warm, just the way I liked it.  My Chicken meal was fork tender and flavorful. Good thing it takes around 3 hours to go to Singapore so there was no need to rush.

One of the highlights of my to Barcelona was my experience with their onboard wifi. I paid around 20++USD for their 24hr wifi service. The speed was pretty decent. I was able to post photos, videos and even do my work during the 14hr flight. I highly recommend you try it!

To my surprise, I was given this special Birthday tray with a birthday cake, a glass of champagne and 2 cute teddy bears courtesy of Singapore Airlines. This birthday surprise was indeed unexpected. My birthday was last (May 10), but I wasn’t able to celebrate because I was busy applying for my visa for this trip. I never thought Singapore Airlines would remember and go that extra mile to make my experience extra special. I’m deeply touched. Thank you so much guys! =)
