McDonalds Says NO to the McWhopper: McDo and Burger King Peace Day Proposal

Ever heard of Peace Day? Just by reading the name itself, you’d pretty much have an idea as to what the goal of this event is. According to un.org, each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

So what does that have to do with Burger King and McDonald’s? Well just recently, Burger King sent a very creative proposal to McDonald’s to put their differences aside in commemoration of Peace Day and join forces for one epic burger – the McWhopper. Check out their cool proposal below.

In Burger King’s letter, a proposal of a collaboration of the two fast food chains for one peace day burger was proposed. Everything would already be set, all they’d need to do is put their differences aside and combine the best of both worlds. It was an exciting idea, one that got the social media pages buzzing.

You gotta hand in to Burger King for the tremendous amount of effort they put into this. More than just a simple letter, they created a video and even a website to support the whole idea. How could you say no to that? ….Unortunately, as “legendary” (as Barney Stinson would say) as this burger might be, McDonald’s had a different idea for a Peace Day collaboration.

Some people were happy with McDonald’s effort to see the bigger picture, however, several other commenters shared their disappointment with McDonald’s response. …’coz all everyone really wants is a nice juice burger. (haha) So for now, goodbye McWhopper.
