Riverdale is one of the most popular series today, and we have great news for Filipino fans: the latest issue of the comics is set in the Philippines!
In Archie Funhouse Comics Spring Annual Issue 26, the fictional band The Archies are in the middle of an international tour. Their next stop? Manila!
The Archie Comics website released some photos of the story:
In the issue, the band is scheduled to perform at the Manila Concert Grounds. On their way there, Jughead Jones says that he’s a “big fan of Filipino culture,” adding that “I hear the barbecue here in the Philippines is practically an art form.”
The Archies is composed of Archie Andrews, Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Reggie Mantle. Some of their songs include “Gumdrops and Teddy Bears,” “Candy Cane Kisses,” and “Jane! Jane! Jane!”
The story was written by Dan Parent, and illustrated by Jim Amash, Glenn Whitemore, and Jack Morelli.
