Earlier this week, it became big news that Hidilyn Diaz won a silver medal for weightlifting in the Olympics. She was a many firsts, including the first Filipina to win an Olympic medal. Aside from bringing pride and glory to the country, check out another one of her major rewards:

And guess what! Hidilyn got an additional PHP 2M from President Rodrigo Duterte. He said it was his way of showing that hard work and great efforts will really pay off. He gave Hidilyn’s reward from the government and his personal additional reward at the Presidential Guest House in Davao City.
Way to go, Hidilyn Diaz! Thank you for the honor you’ve given the Philippines!
