What happens when you put Academy Award-winning writer-director Taika Waititi and a lot of acclaimed Hollywood stars all together in one project? Apparently, you get a new YouTube Storytime series about a classic children’s book!
Taika has teamed up the Roald Dahl Story Company to create a 10-episode group reading session of the classic story James and the Giant Peach as a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief efforts. What makes this project exciting is that not only will Taika narrate the whole piece, but he has also enlisted the help of many celebrities to read the parts.
Some of these celebrities include Meryl Streep, Benedict Cumberbatch, Josh Gad, Lupita Nyong’o, Eddie Redmayne, Ryan Reynolds, Tessa Thompson, and the Hemsworth Brothers, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Billy Porter, and Sarah Paulson.
