In the latest series of covers, Taylor Swift puts her own spin to the Earth, Wind & Fire classic, “September.”
Listen to her take below:
Swift’s cover is part of the Spotify Singles series and heavily features banjoes. For some reason, she changed the iconic lyrics “Do you remember the 20th night of September” to “28th night of September” (rumors persist that that’s her anniversary with her current beau Joe Alwyn).
Netizens have been divided on the cover, with some liking the cover while some hating it.
Check out some of the reactions below:
I really like the Taylor Swift cover of ‘September.’ It made me hear the song in a new way — like a wistful, young, secret love song. Very Swiftian. It sounds very much like ‘Long Live’ to me. And I mean it’s a random acoustic promo performance… get over yourselves.

people who are mad at Taylor Swift for changing the genre of September are the same people who think I Will Always Love You is an original Whitney Houston song
