Vice Presidential hopeful Leni Robredo tells the story of her late husband Jesse Robredo’s Valentine’s day tradition.

Jesse was seated as Mayor of Naga City for 10 years before becoming Interior Secretary.

Leni posted on her Facebook page that no matter how busy Jesse was, he made it a point to buy and distribute roses to all the female employees in the Naga City Hall every February 14th.

She says that she got leftover flowers for Valentine’s Day when Jesse finished his round of flower-giving. The remaining flowers would be for Leni.

The then Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo died in a plane crash in 2012, leaving his wife Leni with their 3 daughters—Aika, Tricia and Jillian.
