The Philippine Animal Rescue Team or P.A.R.T. posted the story of Frank, a pug who was abandoned by his family at an animal shelter in Mandaluyong. They say that he is about 15 years old which means that he is a senior already. He was not properly taken care of and from their assessment of Frank, it looks like he was used to breed dogs.

Direct Quote from P.A.R.T.

Meet Frank. He was abandoned by his family at the Mandaluyong Animal Shelter (MAS). And they made sure there were no volunteers when they left him. Two weeks before Christmas.

We think he’s about 15 years old. But from the looks of it, Frank, wasn’t exactly well cared for. He’s infested with fleas, ticks, and mites. He’s positive for Distemper, and possibly Ehrlichia. And Frank is also partially blind.

We’re not even going to delve into why they abandoned him. There’s no excuse for it. We hear it all the time: We love our pets so much that’s why we want you to take them.

In Frank’s case, he was probably used for breeding until they couldn’t bleed any more money out of him. So he was dumped like yesterday’s garbage.

But that’s all behind him now, he’s at Pendragon Veterinary Clinic getting the necessary treatment and will also be neutered. He’s got a few more years ahead of him and we’ll do all we can to make sure he gets to live it like a king.

Let’s make it clear once and for all:
Abandonment IS ANIMAL CRUELTY. It’s against the law. Do right by your pet.

A cat or dog is a lifetime commitment. If you can’t commit for life, get a stuffed animal

P.A.R.T. also reiterates that they have other animals that require love and care and they hope that people will be interested in adopting the other aspins and pusapins in their care eventhough they are not purebred dogs. To adopt and see their adoptable pets just click this link.
