For the first time, the Hult Prize is coming to De La Salle University (DLSU). DLSU is one of the only three Philippine universities and the 150 universities around the world that the Hult Prize Foundation has granted the opportunity to organize a Hult Prize event this year. This initiative is led by Darrel Francis Luistro, the first ever campus director for Hult Prize @ DLSU and a graduating Financial Management student of the university.
The Hult Prize is the planet’s largest student competition aimed at breeding the next generation of social entrepreneurs and launch start-up social enterprises that can radically change the world. Named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by President Bill Clinton and TIME Magazine and the “Nobel Prize for Students” by global media, the Hult Prize is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship that brings together the world’s brightest college and university students to solve the world’s most pressing issues. Winners receive USD1 Million in seed capital, as well as mentorship and advice from the international business community.
The Hult Prize @ DLSU Grand Finals will happen on December 11, 2015 at the Natividad Fajardo-Rosario Gonzalez Auditorium in the Bro. Andrew Gonzalez Building of De La Salle University. The Final Top 12 teams of 3-4 Lasallians will be pitching their start-up social enterprise ideas to address this year’s President’s Challenge on Crowded Urban Spaces in front of an esteemed panel of judges. The best team will be crowned as the first team to represent De La Salle University in the prestigious Hult Prize Regionals set to happen in March next year.
