Financial Literacy and Investment Summit 2018: Reaping the Benefits of a Financially Inclusive Society

The School of Economics’s home organization namely, the Business Economics Association (BEA), in partnership with the UA&P-University Student Government, brings you “Financial Literacy and Investment Summit 2018: Reaping the Benefits of a Financially Inclusive Society.” Now in its 3rd year, The Financial Literacy and Investment Summit is an annual event organized by BEA as part of its mission to promote economic and financial awareness among the students of the University. This year, BEA has partnered with the UA&P-USG to enable a wider reach, allowing both students and professionals to participate in this exciting and knowledge-filled event. The summit aims to promote and advance a financially-inclusive and literate society as well as to underscore the small ways you can do to pursue this.

The year’s FLIS will tackle the inclusivity of financial literacy for all careers. With that said, every member of the society is able to reap the benefits of such knowledge regardless of their careers. Our event will impart the proper knowledge to these different people with the help of our resource speakers. Having a financially inclusive society means everyone is able to increase awareness and access financial operations.

The summit is divided into various different subtopics from which a respective speaker is assigned to a specific branch. Acting Deputy Director of the Financial Consumer Department of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Rochelle Tomas, will tackle the Financial Inclusion through Mobile Banking, E-Banking, and Mobile Platforms. The discussion on Cryptocurrency will be covered by the CEO and Founder of Acudeen Technologies, Inc., Mr. Magellan Fetalino. Associate Lawyer of Pacis and Reyes Law Firm Atty. Jose Fidel Acuña is expected to talk about Raising Capital for Businesses, Capital Structure, and Regulation Considerations. Furthermore, Mr. Antonio Boncan Herbosa, Founder of Traders Apprentice Pilipinas (TAP), will give a lecture on Investment and Wealth Management. One of the country’s top technical analysts and the Director of Absolute Traders & Consulting Services, Mr. Bonner Dytoc, will delve into Stocks Technical Analysis. Lastly, Mr. Edmund Lee Chua, President and CEO of Caylum Trading Institute, will deliver a keynote speech that shall connect the previous discussions with respect to Financial Literacy.

The Financial Literacy and Investment Summit is scheduled to happen this March 24, 2018, at the Li Seng Giap Auditorium (2/F APEC Communications Building of UA&P), from 10:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. This partnership between BEA and UA&P-USG is open to all students and professionals outside the university. The ticket rate for students is priced at 350 pesos, while tickets for professionals is 500 pesos. Nevertheless, both groups of participants can avail of the promo, where one may buy 5 tickets of the same type and get 1 for free. The purchasing of tickets should be done via bank deposit to Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) (Ortigas-San Miguel Branch). Payment should be placed to BUSINESS ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION (Account Name) with Savings Account No. 3993038775. The last day of registration and payment will be on March 19, 2018.

Attendees of FLIS are also required to send a scanned copy of their deposit slip together with a valid school or company ID to bea@uap.asiaThey will only be considered as an official participant after the organizers have received the payment, with an e-mail of acknowledgment and confirmation of slots.
