The 20-year-old model says that young girls should be free to be who they want to be when it comes to wearing make-up.

Bella, who cites Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor as her beauty icons when she was younger, said that she’s an advocate of people following their own intuition, when asked what beauty message she would like to share with her influence.

Talking to Harper’s Bazaar, Bella said:

”I think that what’s so beautiful about make-up is that, if you love it and you feel beautiful wearing it, you can wear as much as you like. But if you feel you don’t need to or if you don’t like to, that’s also fine too. It’s something that can empower you if you want it to but if not then so be it. So the message towards young girls is to just be who you want to be. Make-up is a powerful thing and nowadays it gives so many girls so much confidence.”

Although Bella is always seen sporting heavy make-up while shooting fashion campaigns or on the catwalk, the model usually swears off makeup when she’s “off-duty”, and drinks lots of water to detox her body.
