With long-running series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano back on the air, lead star Coco Martin took to Instagram to welcome a new celebrity joining the show.

In a video teaser, Coco introduced an all-new character who seems to be the latest villain threatening to get in the way of the love story of Alyana and Cardo, played by Yassi Pressman and Coco respectively.
“Matipuno. Simpatiko. Malakas ang dating. Kilalanin si Lito, ang susubok sa laban ng pag-ibig nina Alyana at Cardo (Strong. Sympathetic. Charismatic. Meet Lito, the one who will test the love between Alyana and Cardo),” he wrote.
Who is it, you ask? It’s none other than Richard Gutierrez!
“Abangan si @richardgutz sa #FPJsAngProbinsyano simula ngayong Lunes (Watch out for Richard Gutierrez in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano starting this Monday),” Coco revealed.
In another video by Dreamscape Entertainment, Richard shared a little bit about his role.
“Ang character ko dito ay si Angelito. Lumaki na maraming paghihirap na pinagdaanan. Ang tanging taong nagpapasaya sa kanya at minamahal niya ay yung character ni Alyana (My character is Angelito. He grew up having gone through so much suffering. The only person who makes him happy and who he loves is the character Alyana),” he said.
He added how thrilled he was to be working for the first time alongside Coco and to be included in the popular show which has starred many other celebrities in the last five years.
“Ikinagagalak ko na maging bahagi ng ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ Alam naman natin na ‘Ang Probinsyano’, sa generation namin, ay isang haligi sa action at sa teleserye. Excited ako bilang aktor na maging bahagi ng ganitong klaseng show na ilang taon nang tumatakbo and yet number one pa rin,” he shared.
(“I am happy to be a part of ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ We all know that ‘Ang Probinsyano,’ to our generation, is iconic in the action genre and as a television soap. I am excited as an actor to be part of this kind of show that has been running for many years and yet is still number one.”)
