This Couple Got Engaged Through a Video Game

When you’re dating a gamer, your only competitor when it comes to his attention is video games. Although if you’re a gamer too like this couple, that wouldn’t be a problem. In fact, they even got engaged through Genshin Impact. Ronica Pilar Mejica Cabansag shared how her “ex-boyfriend” pulled off the surprise!

She said, “he told me that he has a surprise for me and I need to come by his house in the afternoon, or better at night.” The lady felt that something will happen but brushed it off because her fiancé is not into romantic stuff, as far as she knows. She was excited to see how an introvert person surprises her though. According to Cabansag, Jerome Javillonar is “extremely introverted” to the point that he shuts down everything and dismisses greetings on his birthday.

“So, nung pagkarating ko sa house nila with my mom, like, I don’t see anything flashy or what, and even his mom looks like wala namang idea sa surprise,” she continued. “I thought, maybe it is not what I’m thinking. I even told my mom that my ex boyfriend has [a] surprise daw, baka lampshade kasi gusto niya gabi ibigay.”

Cabansag was hesitant at first but then, “pagka-open ko ng kwarto niya may sumilip na lights and balloons. I [felt] mixed emotions. Umiiyak and tumatawa at the same time, and takot ituloy buksan ‘yung pinto,” she said. “When I finally decided [na] buksan [‘yung] pintuan, ayun na nabungad ‘yung GENSHIN IMPACT, which is our favorite online game.”

The lady thought it was very creative because she knows how hard it is to create the entire thing. True enough, it took Javillonar more than a month as he needed to save for and buy the supplies in the video game.
