The next morning, the FJ convoy drove to Misibis Bay in Albay to enjoy some sun and sand. The 45 minute drive was a visual treat.
Then again, almost all drives here tend to be trips on the scenic route.
Misibis Bay Resort is a sprawling complex complete with hotel accomodations, restaurants, pools, and other recreational activities.
The resort offers kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding, and even snorkeling – we tried our hand in all of them (sans windsurfing as we were told there was not enough wind that day).
Tricked my mom to go paddle boarding with me. It was fun!
The next morning was spent driving from Legaspi City to Naga, Bicol’s capital city. Again, there was no dearth of scenery.
We left Bicol on Monday morning after having spent Sunday enjoying food and shopping in Naga City.

After 4 days on the road, I arrive home with a valuable lesson: looking at something with fresh eyes puts it in a different perspective and allows you to appreciate it more. This was not the first time I visited the Mayon but it is the first time I come home in awe, humbled by its beauty.

The trip proved that the well known adage speaks the truth: it’s the journey and not the destination that matters – and it all depends on the roads (or in the case of the PFJCC, the dirt roads) you take to get there.
