3.) Chili Miso Chasu Ramen for P335
Spicy Chasu Ramen with our signature slow cooked pork belly, topped with marinated egg, shitake, fish cake, and spring onions
Among all dishes served, this is my friend Bien’s favorite. She’s a huge fan of ramen and Japanese cuisine, so I think she knows what she’s talking about. She also commented on the price. According to her, it was relatively affordable–especially for the quantity of each serving.
There were six of us in the group eating four orders of ramen for lunch. But because we were so full, most of us skipped dinner. Sulit!
This dish is my second favorite. It has all the good things that the Miso Chasu Ramen has, but the chili made it all the more flavorful. It wasn’t too spicy for me, too.
4.) The Steak Ramen for 425
Ramen with Gyu Wafu Steak topped with button mushroom and corn
I intentionally saved the best for last! Out of six, five of us chose this as our favorite, mostly because of the steak. The steak alone was perfect! It was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked!
The soup didn’t taste anywhere near the other three. It was sweet, and you could taste the hint of corn in the soup itself. I like how unique and new this dish is.
And while this post is mostly about ramen, this dessert is so good, it’s worth talking about. It’s called the Molten Lava Cake. My friends and I were already (very) full from all the ramen, but when the friendly staff of Tempura offered us dessert, this is what they recommended. Other When in Manila contributors have recommended it before, and for a good reason!
We finished the dessert until the last drop–including the cinammon and chocolate swirl! I really liked their Molten Lava Cake because they used dark chocolate. It wasn’t too sweet, and the texture was just perfect.
It has what most customers like in a restaurant. Considering there were six of us sharing four orders, and we were full until dinner, I could say it’s affordable. The ambiance was quiet and calm, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was great.
These are the reasons why it falls on the third category: a restaurant I’d keep coming back to.
When in Manila, make sure to cherish each day and each bite! 🙂 Thank you to @NoreenOr, @Bien_316, @PatriceDeOcampo, @NikkiTiamLee, @PaaamMartin for the photos and the videos, and for sharing happy food trips and happy adventures with me!
