Help Us Find Vinny! Condo Resident Calls For Immediate Return of Missing Sickly Senior Cat

[Edited as of August 6, 2023]

A condo resident is asking everyone in Manila to keep an eye out for a sickly senior cat that’s been living in the parking lot of a condominium in Bonifacio Global City that has gone missing since August 1.

In a post made by the caretaker on Instagram, @happy.chapati, the cat named Vinny has been residing in the condo parking lot for several years. He is described to have a limp, a mangled ear, and difficulties eating due to gum issues.

“I started taking care of him the past year, although it is clear someone took care of him in the past as he was neutered already when I first saw him. As much as I want to take him in to give him the best care he deserves, it has proven difficult to catch him (I’ve tried) as he is smart, skittish of people he does not know, and suspicious of carriers and nets. He preferred being around his home for several years, hiding under cars. However, due to [the] decline in his health the past few weeks, I was extra determined to bring [him] indoors already,” the caretaker said in their post.

But on August 1, the caretaker was suddenly informed that Vinny had been “caught and adopted” by one of the condo guards after a resident had complained about seeing cat food around his luxury car. They alleged that Vinny was taken without their consent despite being Vinny’s “primary caretaker.”

Unfortunately, after being brought to the guard’s home, Vinny escaped overnight and has since been missing. The condo guards are currently helping search for Vinny.

The caretaker is also pleading to the public to help locate Vinny and return him safely.
