Baler Travel Guide: Where to Go, Where to Stay, and Where to Eat

Where to Stay in Baler

Balud Camp Beach Resort

Balud Camp Beach Resort in Poblacion, Baler has an unassuming vibe; it is peaceful and laid-back, making it ideal for people who want to get away from the crowd. They offer accommodations for couples and big groups of guests. During our visit, we got the chance to taste their delicious homemade biko and grilled chicken.

Bay’s Inn Resort has been in Baler for more than two decades now. However, as of today, it offers newly-improved air-conditioned rooms and amenities perfect for the hip and chic Instagram lovers out there. While some of its parts are still under renovation, there are floors that can already be occupied.

La Patricia Hotel and Buffet Restaurant has family rooms that can fit up to 10 people, as well as couple rooms and cabanas good for two, four, five, and six people. The place also has an infinity pool and is located in front of Sabang Beach.

La Patricia Hotel

We stayed in a cabana good for four people that cost Php5,000 and comes with complimentary breakfast. It has a fully air-conditioned room with hot and cold shower, cable TV, and basic toiletries. They also have a wide parking space for when you decide to bring your own vehicle. The town experiences power interruptions at times, by the way; but fortunately, La Patricia has their own generator set. For reservations, call 09998882596/0988190806.

Cube by Costa

CubebyCosta1

Cube by Costa is relatively new in the neighborhood. Since it is owned by the Costa Group of Hotels, you can expect quality accommodation service.

CubebyCosta

The place has a total of 80 rooms housed inside white container vans lined up all over the place. The best thing about Cube by Costa is their hippy lounge area where you can sit and chill with your barkada while drinking cocktails at their poolside bar. It has two outdoor pools, too: one for kids and one for adults.

How to Get to Baler

If you are coming from Cubao, you can ride a bus by Genesis Transport. The travel time is 5-6 hours and it costs around Php500. The first trip is at 3AM and the last one is at 7:30PM with an hour interval between each trip. Speaking based on experience, Genesis Transport bus offers a comfortable and safe trip and they have very accommodating drivers. What I like best is that they have USB ports under each seat for charging. Plus, they have Wi-Fi on board.

Getting around Baler is also relatively easy. You can rent a bike or a motorcycle from the town proper. You can also hire a tricycle to tour the attractions at the neighboring towns of Baler. If you don’t have any plans for the summer yet, add Baler to your list now!
