Eric ”Eruption” Tai Thanks ”It’s Showtime” for Jumpstarting His Career

Eric Tai a.k.a. “Eruption” was one of the hosts of “It’s Showtime” since 2012 before leaving the program in 2016. Now a gaming video creator, the celebrity just revealed what happened in a recent interview with Julius Babao.

“Reformats, biglaan eh. Kasi papasok na ako ng It’s Showtime tapos kinuha ako nung producer. Ang sabi niya, ‘pwede tayo mag meeting muna?’ Umakyat kami sa taas and I was like, ’uy ba’t aakyat sa taas? Bibihira kami dito sa taas. And then, I had a feeling that something was going on. Sabi niya, ‘pasensya na, Eric, na nagkaroon kami ng reformat and hindi na kailangan yung full services mo dito’,” he recalled.

Despite how the situation unfolded, Eruption expressed his gratitude towards the noontime show for jumpstarting his career. He continued, “I took it on the chin and I said, ‘thank you kasi kilala na ako dahil sa inyo,’ and I’ll always hold that to my heart na. It’s Showtime, maraming salamat.”

He even named some of his former colleagues, and thanked them once again for the opportunities that came with the four-year gig. “Direk Bobet, thank you so much. Vice, everyone there, thank you because I’m known as ‘Eruption’ and I have a name na, dahil sa inyo,” he stated. “I was able to get endorsements, and my social media following jumped.”

As of writing, the TV/online personality currently has 5.7 million TikTok followers, 3 million Facebook followers, 438K Instagram followers, 228K YouTube subscribers, and almost 160K Twitter followers. Prior his career in show business, Eruption was a professional rugby player.
