This Company Threw an Epic Year-End Party for Its Employees and Gave Away a Vespa, Trip to Balesin, and More

With talent retention becoming increasingly important in a post-pandemic world, business leaders are now realizing that success in the new normal means maintaining the best teams most effectively. According to Forbes, professionals are now considering leaving their roles in search of ones that offer better work-life balance and alignment with their values. In comparison to the past when competitive compensation was enough to attract talent, 61% of employees are prioritizing work-life balance according to Gallup, making it a key component of talent retention. With the present business landscape, the new war for talent has pushed businesses to focus on not only creating ideal work environments but re-strategizing the overall employee experience as a whole.

Going forward, this calls for a greater need for companies to focus on employee engagement and satisfaction by providing the conditions for employees to have a better work-life balance. With an increasing number of talent pools offered globally, talent retention has become more critical than ever before.

One company that has since been well-known for establishing a talent experience that puts an emphasis on work-life balance is the country’s largest flexible workspace provider, KMC Solutions. Being officially certified as a Great Place To Work company, the organization’s core values and vision has long been centered around flexibility and work-life harmony, often throwing large parties in their headquarters, hosting after-hours workout sessions, and providing flexible work arrangements to their employees. Having become renowned for the parties that KMC throws for their community, the organization has always put employee engagement and experience at the forefront.

Tracy Ignacio, Chief Operating Officer of KMC Solutions, says, “KMC is always continuing to strive in being an employee-centric organization, investing in time and resources to the people behind the scenes of the company’s success. It is through prioritizing the employee experience that we have been able to cultivate a community-based culture, which in turn speaks for itself in great results of our talent retention.”

Last December 7, the company hosted a futuristic neon-themed, year-end block party for both their employees and their clients’ staff at the Amphitheater, Bonifacio High Street, BGC. The KMC Block Party: Neon Future is the company’s official year-end bash, with big-ticket raffle prizes up for grabs, a full lineup of DJ performances, and a 360 photobooth that the community enjoyed as the night’s festivities went on — emphasizing the importance of building a community-based workplace culture through the employee experience.

Some of the big-ticket items that were raffled away during the party were two 4K Smart TVs, a 3-night stay in Boracay & Balesin, and a brand-new Vespa Primavera 150. KMC employees also danced the night away with DJ performances from House Manila Resident DJs Inna Gita & Arra Gunio, as well as Up Dharma Down’s Ean Mayor as they accompanied the night’s celebration with their music.

When asked the importance of having the company’s community come together and why a corporation such as KMC often throws these parties for their employees, Gian Reyes, VP of Marketing for KMC, says, “Being a talent-as-a-service provider, we are the employer of record in the Philippines for the world’s most disruptive brands. We take that seriously, making sure that unlike in a BPO setup we’re not about the churn and burn approach which often results in high attrition. When we attract talent, we want to retain them to the best of our abilities by providing a great talent experience.”

“With our client brands already providing a great culture to their respective teams, we wanted them to still enjoy being part of the KMC community and the perks that go along with that — we’re known for holding some of the best parties after all.”

KMC is trusted by some of the biggest global brands to build their offshore teams, further cementing their status as Great Place To Work certified company. KMC has always invested in different wellness and employee engagement programs to retain their workforce, which has also greatly contributed to their second GPTW certification in a row.

But what has set them apart from other talent providers and BPOs (Business Process Outsourcing) has been their ability to reduce attrition and increase retention, which the industry is normally known for with the churn and burn approach. At KMC, the attrition rate for their clients’ staff is at 18.71%, compared to the industry average of 30-40%.

With the war for talent being fierce in the post-pandemic new normal, what can companies like KMC do to continue providing an exceptional workplace experience that engages their employees, and in turn increases their talent retention? The employee experience may be the edge employers need in the new war for talent and can make or break a company’s ability to attract and retain talent. As employees’ priorities are shifting post-pandemic, companies who can deliver solutions of flexibility, choice and work-life balance will no doubt be best positioned to attract top talent and maintain a competitive edge in their respective markets.

KMC is the largest flexible space and fastest-growing talent-as-a-service provider in the Philippines. Our impressive portfolio of flexible workspaces and access to top talent makes it easier than ever to do business in the Philippines.
