What Movie Is Taylor Swift Going to Direct? Here’s What We Know So Far

In case you missed it, Taylor Swift will be making her directorial debut soon! Aside from winning music awards left and right, Swift has also acted on screen as seen on “Valentine’s Day” and “Cats.” She will be appearing in David O. Russell’s “Amsterdam” this year, too! But, what movie is she going to direct?

For her first movie as a director, the “Fearless” singer /songwriter has reportedly written an original script. This project will then be produced by Searchlight Pictures, the Oscar-winning studio behind “Nomadland” and “The Shape of Water.”

Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield described Swift as a “once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller.” They told Variety, “It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

As for other key details–like Swift’s upcoming movie’s title, plot, and casting, it seems that we still have to wait. We’re super excited though because as we know, she is the only solo artist who has won two best direction awards at the MTV VMAs! These were for her work on “All Too Well: The Short Film” and “The Man” which Swift both wrote and directed. The 14-minute short film/music video was also screened at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

Moreover, the 11-time Grammy winner is also the only female artist to win album of the year on three different occasions. Back at it again, her 10th studio album “Midnights,” which includes tracks “Anti-Hero” and “Lavender Haze”, was recently released in October.
