We recall that the former mayor of Manila City won the mayoral race in 2019. He bested then outgoing Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada and former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

In the 2022 presidential race, Domagoso led the Aksyon Demokratiko party with Dr. Willie Ong as his running mate. He then conceded to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. a day after the Philippine elections on May 9.

The former TV personality entered politics in 1998. At age 23, he was elected as councilor for Manila’s first legislative district under the slate of then-Mayor Lito Atienza.

Now 47 years old, he was succeeded by the city’s first female mayor-elect Maria Sheilah Honrado “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan. She was also the first female vice mayor in the city during her previous post in tandem with Moreno.
