Metro Manila Records Its Lowest Temperature So Far This Amihan Season

Earlier today, Metro Manila recorded its lowest temperature so far this Amihan season at 19.7 degrees Celsius. This is according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA reported that the cold temperature was registered at 5:30 a.m. at the PAGASA Science Garden station in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, the top 10 stations that reportedly recorded the lowest temperatures in the country on Sunday morning are:

  • Baguio City, Benguet – 11.0°C
  • Tanay, Rizal – 18.0°C
  • Casiguran, Aurora – 18.6°C
  • Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – 18.6°C
  • Malaybalay, Bukidnon – 19.0°C
  • Basco, Batanes – 19.1°C
  • San Jose, Occidental Mindoro – 19.1°C
  • Sinait, Ilocos Sur – 19.5°C
  • Science Garden, Quezon City – 19.7°C
  • Abucay, Bataan – 19.8°C

According to the agency, the lowest temperature recorded in Metro Manila was 14.5 degrees Celsius on January 11, 1914. On the other hand, the coldest temperature of this season was recorded at 7.7 degrees Celsius in Benguet province last December 31.

The Amihan season prevails over the eastern part of the Philippines. Its onset was declared last year, October 26.
