Doctor-turned-Singer, Sary Valenzuela Drops Her 3rd Single, a Cinematic Love Song for the Holidays

Sary Valenzuela is an Asian elf and storyteller. She was a theater-trained singer and published teen newspaper journalist for several years til these facets somehow merged and came together in songwriting.

After being selected as one of the participants of Ryan Cayabyab, Twinky Lagdameo, & Julio D. Sy, Jr.’s Elements Music Camp in 2015, she went on to release two singles that went to become sleeper hits in the indie music scene, “Soft Tap Rain” and “Look at Me” with almost 500k streams combined without marketing.

After graduating from med school in 2021, she signed a distribution deal with Warner Music Philippines and is currently working on new music, collaborating with rising OPM stars and producers.

Her newest single, “i love who i am when i’m loving you”, is the exploration of the quiet details of falling in love. It’s the nervous hesitancy and the palpable joy that crescendos in finding someone who still chooses you, without the glitz and glitters.

Unmasked, this poprock song with folk and electronic influences, is quite simply, a love letter.

Singer-songwriter Sary Valenzuela & producer Nik Armarnani of Line In Records sought to bring a cinematic love song, recreating the feeling of falling in love over the holidays. The track was organically produced with RJ Pineda of the blues quartet Brat Pack and Alex Price of La Crema & Ang Bagong Luto ni Enriquez.

“i love who i am when i’m loving you”, a love song for the holidays, drops on December 3 on all major streaming platforms.
