Yes, the “How I Met Your Mother” sequel is totally still happening, and the first photos on set are looking legen — wait for it — dary!
The official social media page of the upcoming series, titled “How I Met Your Father,” announced the start of shooting by sharing a sneak peek at the cast of characters who will hopefully be our favorite new set of friends. Some of the cast members featured in the post were Hilary Duff, who is taking the lead role of the mother telling her story of how she met her soon-to-be husband to her kids, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, and Tien Tran.
Hilary also shared one of the snaps on her Instagram which is of her seated at the bar in different camera angles. “Hello, I’m Sophie,” she wrote in the caption.
Meanwhile, Francia, who will play Sophie’s roommate and great friend Valentina who is also an aspiring stylist, posted a selfie of her and her onscreen bestie. “Haaaaaave you met the cast?!” she gushed. “Day 1 [of filming] complete.”
Executive Producer Isaac Aptaker also shared a pic behind the scenes.

Other members of the cast include Chris Lowell and Suraj Sharma.
It is yet to be determined when “How I Met Your Father” will premiere. According to reports, it will have 10 episodes and will be shown exclusively on Hulu. It will follow the story of Sophie, a millennial living in the year 2021 who is in the midst of figuring out who she is, what she wants out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
