A daughter of an ailing father has put up a fundraiser on Facebook with the hope of raising enough money to pay for his hospital bills after he had recently suffered a heart attack and is now in need of surgery.
According to Kim Salcedo, her father, aged 54 with four kids and two grandchildren, was suddenly diagnosed with Severe 3-vessel Coronary Artery Disease involving proximal left anterior descending artery, proximal left circumflex, and mid-right coronary artery. Prior to his heart attack last January 11, 2021, he had a “perfectly healthy” body and had never been hospitalized.
He is now due to undergo Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting—a surgical procedure to restore normal blood flow to an obstructed coronary artery—which costs around PHP 700-800K, 60% of which is already needed as a downpayment to schedule the surgery.
On top of this, he is said to be receiving 10 different maintenance medicines daily.
“Setting up this fundraiser is one of the ways we thought of that can help us put together the funds we need for his surgery and medicines,” Kim told When In Manila. “Our dad is still young and still has a life ahead of him. Please help us give our dad a shot in extending his life and be with his family for a long time.”
