Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Friday the promotion of 4,339 casual employees of the city government. The promotion entailed an increase in their salaries.
City government employees who are making P11,551 a month will get a monthly salary of P13,572 by January 2021, an increase of P2,021.
The young mayor admitted that it took a long and tedious process for the salary increase for their employees to push through but it was all worth it as it ensured decent wages for their workers.
“Giving our workers dignity and security is an important part of this,” he said in a Facebook post on Friday night.

Pasig will also regularize 617 contractual employees who have been serving the city for more than 15 years.
If he had his way, Sotto wants to promote all their workers but he explained it has to undergo a process.
