Slapshock Vocalist Jamir Garcia’s Wife Mourns His Passing: ‘Lalabas Din ang Katotohanan’

The wife of Slapshock vocalist Jamir Garcia, Jaya, has spoken up about Jamir’s untimely death on Thursday, November 26.

She held a Facebook live video on Friday afternoon, November 27, with the intention to share the complete story surrounding Jamir’s passing. However, she visibly struggled to do.

In the video, she expressed how she wanted people to remember Jamir as a kind and selfless person who “didn’t deserve” the allegations and “fake news” that she said were deliberately spread about him to pull him down. She did not specify what she was referring to and did not name any names, but it’s been previously reported that there is a current issue surrounding Slapshock’s disbandment that was allegedly due to tensions between band members.

At the end of her video, she thanked loyal fans of Slapshock for all their support throughout the 23 years.

The following day after Jaya’s Facebook live, Slapshock bassist Lee Nadela also broke his silence to mourn Jamir’s death and to respond to Jaya’s accusations that he believes were directed to him and bandmate Jerry Basco after they had both proposed the disbandment last October 2020.

“We may have had differences, pero mas mahaba at mas marami kaming mabuting pinagsamahan for 23 years.

“Regarding Jaya’s Facebook video post yesterday, please don’t accuse me and Jerry Basco of wrongdoing, when we were just speaking out the truth and the injustice done to us.

“We will answer all your baseless accusations and refute it with concrete evidence, na dapat sa korte ipepresenta.

Jamir was found lifeless at his home in Brgy. Sangandaan, Quezon City from an apparent suicide. He was allegedly declared dead on arrival at Metronorth Hospital. He was 42-years-old at the time of his passing.
