NASA astronauts to film beauty ad aboard the International Space Station

Beauty brand Estée Lauder will be sending up to ten bottles of their new product, the Advanced Night Serum, to outer space for a commercial ad.

These products will be sent to astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) to shoot videos and photos of the product. These photos and videos will be used for Estée Lauder’s brand campaigns and other advertisements for the serum.

This advertisement is not the first brand campaign to be shot in space. Major brands like Pepsi and KFC have shot advertisements in space before. However, this brand campaign marks one of NASA’s major efforts since it started to open up business with private sectors regarding space projects.

Astronauts on the ISS will be shooting the campaign for the serum, but no astronauts will appear in the advertisements. NASA’s ethics policies prohibit astronauts from appearing in any marketing campaign.
