This is a K-drama that we’re looking forward to seeing. Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Lee Joon will be starring in a new sci-fi horror thriller.
It will be called The Silent Sea and will reportedly be set in the future. According to a report by Soompi, “desertification has left the earth with food and water shortages. A special team is tasked with retrieving mysterious samples from an abandoned research station on the moon.”
Gong Yoo will be playing Han Yoon Jae, a team leader who must retrieve samples from the research station where an accident took place. Bae Doona will portray Dr. Song Ji Ahn, an astrobiologist who helps discover the secret behind the accident. Meanwhile, Lee Joon will play Ryu Tae Seok, an engineer of the Ministry of National Defense.
The Silent Sea will be produced by actor Jung Woo-Sung and directed by Choi Hang Yong.
Elle reports that the series will have eight episodes and that they began filming last month.
There’s no word when it will air, but it will stream on Netflix.
