National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab is heading a free virtual concert at home featuring plenty of our favorite local musicians for a great cause.
The concert, done in partnership with PLDT-Home, titled “At Home With PLDT: No Learner Left Behind,” will be a fundraising initiative for the benefit of students, teachers, and schools nationwide as local education begins to shift to online distance learning methods to adapt to the New Normal.
Joining Cayabyab are OPM icons Regine Velasquez and her husband Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, and Pops Fernandez, as well as other musical theater artists, including the 8 Taal Ensemble, Sheila Valderama, Yanah Laurel, Lara Maigue, Gabriela Pangilinan, Gian Magdangal, Arman Ferrer, Flord Tena, and David Ezra.
Comedian and theater actor, Jon Santos, will be hosting while award-winning concert director, Paolo Valenciano, will be directing.
“Music unites us. This concert brings us together in the spirit of ‘bayanihan’ to help the underprivileged communities – especially the students, teachers, and schools – who are now facing a lot of challenges in online distance learning,” Cayabyab shared. “We hope that through this online concert, we’re able to unite as one country and contribute for the future of these children.”
You can watch the live-streamed concert on PLDT Home’s Facebook and YouTube pages on July 14, Tuesday, at 6 PM Manila time. Donations can be made through the PLDT-Smart Foundation Inc.’s Paymaya and bank accounts or by texting DONATE<space><amount> to 3456.
