OMG: Kingdom Hearts might be getting its own TV show!

The massively popular video game Kingdom Hearts made waves when it came out in 2002 because of the wonderfully whimsical crossover between Square Enix’s Final Fantasy games and Disney movies,  a best-of-both-worlds moment of our childhood. It carried on to its sequel games, creating a (complicated) tapestry of complex narratives, heartwarming moments, and beloved characters that have grown on us and grown with us.

Kingdom Hearts 3 had the fandom crying when it was finally released in 2019, all those years of trying to add 100 extra zippers to our outfits and hoping our house keys opened worlds finally coming to fruition. It was beautiful and now all of us are waiting with bated breath for the next installment.

But who knew it’d be a TV show?

Kingdom Hearts

According to We Got This Covered, a show may be in development for Disney+.

Because of how complicated the story has gotten, we’re not totally sure about what the plot might be, but people are speculating it’ll be a reboot where we follow Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they help all sorts of Disney heroes and heroines.
