If Erik Matti criticized K-dramas as the doom of local movies and TV shows, his fellow director Joey Reyes went the opposite route, praising the genre as stylish, tasteful, gorgeous, and eye-popping.
In a tweet, he said, “Why do these Korean actors look so stylish and tasteful? Why are the locations so gorgeous and eye-popping? How much money do they spend for these series? Why can’t we do that here?”
Reyes then linked to a blog post where he continued to praise the genre.

The post is the fourth of a series of posts praising K-drama as a genre. It started when he posed a question on Twitter, asking followers, “Just wondering because I want to know your thoughts:Â WHAT MAKES KOREANOVELAS SUCH FAVORITES FOR FILIPINOS? What makes them DIFFERENT?”
