Manila officials to donate entire April salary to PGH

Elected officials of the Manila City government—the Mayor, the Vice Mayor, and all City Councilors—will donate their entire salaries for the month of April to the Philippine General Hospital, according to Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

This announcement was posted on Manila PIO Facebook Page.

The Department of Health reported on Saturday 76 new confirmed COVID-19 infections, the lowest in a week marked with daily three-digit spikes in the number of new coronavirus infections.

The Philippines has a total of  3,094 cases, the DOH said.

Eight more patients have died from the coronavirus disease, raising the nationwide death toll to 144.

Five more people were cleared of coronavirus infection, for a total of 57 recoveries.

Luzon has been placed under enhanced community quarantine, restricting people’s movement, to contain the spread of the virus. Other areas outside Luzon have imposed their own lockdown policies.
