Cebu Placed Under “Enhanced Community Quarantine” amid COVID-19 pandemic

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cebu Provincial Government has also announced that it will be implementing an “Enhanced Community Quarantine” in the province.

As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread, many places have either imposed quarantines or lockdowns to contain its spread. With this, Governor Gwen Garcia signs Executive Order No. 5-N last March 25. This places Cebu Province under Enhanced Community Quarantine, allowing people to only go out for their essential needs.

This order will also prevent the entry of international passengers starting Friday, March 27. However, the post clarifies that the movement of cargoes on all airports and seaports in the province will remain unimpeded. Outbound passengers will also not be barred from leaving Cebu.

So far, the province only has one reported case of COVID-19. As of writing, there have been 636 reported cases of COVID-19 in the country with 38 fatalities and 26 recoveries.
