LOOK: Bea Alonzo Tells John Lloyd Cruz: ‘I Miss Throwing Lines with You’

Bea Alonzo just spent her Valentine’s Day in the most unexpected way, but she swears she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

The actress made headlines over Valentine’s weekend after she reunited with her former love team partner, John Lloyd Cruz, to surprise fans with a live script reading of Antoinette Jadaone’s popular 2014 romantic comedy, That Thing Called Tadhana.

The surprise happened after their iconic movie One More Chance, also directed by Jadaone, was screened at the Ayala Triangle Gardens to kick off Art Fair Philippines’ “10 Days of Art”.

John Lloyd portrayed the role of Anthony, originally played by JM De Guzman, while Bea read the lines of Mace, originally played by her close friend Angelica Panganiban.

On Instagram, Bea shared photos from the event and wrote a quick reflection.

“Valentine’s Day turned out to be a little different from what I had expected,” she began.

“I did a live script reading of Tonette Jadaone’s beautiful script, “That Thing Called TADHANA” at Ayala Triangle with [John Lloyd Cruz.] It was a beautiful evening. The air was crisp, it didn’t feel like it was a busy Friday night, it almost felt like the holidays again.”

She continued: “We went there unannounced with a few of our friends who opted to spend their Valentine’s with us. Most of them stayed until we finished reading the two-hour-long script.”

“I have to say, nakakamiss makabatuhan ng mga linya ang isang (I miss throwing lines with the one and only) John Lloyd Cruz. I am so glad I had the privilege to be on stage with these two amazing and talented people,” she added.

She then congratulated the people behind the event, film critic Philbert Dy and film score composer and writer Erwin Romulo, for the successful “unconfined cinema experience.”
