WATCH: Marcelito Pomoy Gets A Standing Ovation in America’s Got Talent

It’s once again another moment of Pinoy pride on international television. On the hit talent show America’s Got Talent, one of our most brilliant appeared to give an amazing display of Filipino talent.

Marcelito Pomoy, a well-renowned singer, was on one of the recent episodes of America’s Got Talent. He is known locally for his unique skill of being able to sing in both male and female voices (or more technically, in both tenor and soprano). He brought this skill to America’s Got Talent which inevitably amazed the audience and the judges.

Marcelito brought along on-stage his wife who expressed her deep support of her husband.

After a short chat with the show’s judges, namely Howie Mandel, Alesha Dixon, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, Marcelito went into a “duet” performance of Andrea Bocelli’s The Prayer.

Watch his performance here:

The judges and the whole audience was instantly blown away by the talent that Marcelito displayed.

All of the judges only had positive comments about his performance. And while the audience chanted for the Golden Buzzer, Howie Mandel decided against it, saying that it was still too early to press the Golden Buzzer. Still, Marcelito’s journey to international stardom continues as he moves on to the semi-finals.

Marcelito Pomoy won as the Grand Champion of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2011.
