Well, eight-year-old Ryan Kaji is busy being the highest-paid content creator on video-sharing platform YouTube. According to a list published by Forbes magazine on December 17, Ryan earned a whopping $26 million (or Php 1.3 billion) in 2019 alone.

This makes him YouTube’s highest-earning content creator 2 years in a row. Ryan also claimed the spot in 2018 by taking home $22 million (Php 1.1 billion) that year.
So what exactly merits such a huge paycheck? His channel, Ryan’s World, might only be 3 years old but it already has 22.9 million subscribers. More than that, several videos on the channel have racked up more than a billion views each. Analytics website Social Blade puts the channel’s total views at about 35 billion.
The channel mostly revolves around Ryan unboxing various toys and playing with them. It was initially called Ryan ToysReview but was renamed after an official complaint was filed by Truth in Advertising, a consumer advocacy organization.
The name change was appropriate in more ways than one as Ryan’s channel has evolved to include other kinds of videos, like educational ones.
