Stated are the things that was prepared to begin the journey of an unending servant-leadership towards the apprentices. In the most peculiar and common ways, the Far Eastern University’s Institute of Nursing Student Council (IN SC) had devised a way to mobilize the acquisition of experience of its officers and members in order to provide the best possible services it could give to its newcomers and trainees. The DILAAB 2019: Fueling the Leadership Pipeline was the answer. A terminology used to describe the blazing fire; it is a team building event themed “Transcending Boundaries, Traversing Possibilities, Transforming Leadership” that aims to inspire and ignite the will to serve the students who asked for this role.
Congresswoman Sarah Elago, Representative of the KABATAAN Partylist spearheaded the empowerment of the student-leaders as she was able to talk about the Advocacy-Driven Service and Leadership that helped the students to clearly identify their unselfish reasons to serve the Institute of Nursing leaving them with soul-touching words of “Kahit na parati tayong nasasaktan at naha-heartbreak ng Pilipinas, parati pa rin natin siyang gusto o pinipili na mahalin at ipagtanggol”. While Atty. Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno, the Chairman of the Free Legal Assistance Group emboldened these young heads through his Purpose-Driven Service and Leadership talk to manage their purpose and willpower in having their contributions done in the society without any anticipation of good comeback. Atty. Diokno left the student leaders with his heartfelt message, “You are never too young to speak the right from wrong and you are never too young to speak the truth.” This event was pushed through last 13th of October, Sunday, year 2019 at the Casas Building, G. Tolentino Street, España Boulevard, Manila exactly at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
A speech on integrity and leadership from the IN SC President, Ronald Jayson E. Torres served as the closing remarks of the event, inspiring and lifting the confidence of the students leaving them with moving words of “Dumating man ang panahon na ‘di tayo kilalanin ng ating mga pasyente bilang kanilang mga tagapagbigay aruga at alaga, sana huwag tayong tumigil na magbigay sa kanila ng kalinga. Hindi dahil sa ito ang dapat, kundi dahil sa ito ang tama.”
Still, leadership will be leadership when there is comradeship.
